SafeGuard Enterprise: "Error: Invalid BAK file" during the Challenge Response procedure

Issue
During the Challenge/Response procedure for a SafeGuard Enterprise Standalone Client (when loading the BAK file) "Error: Invalid BAK file" is displayed.

What To Do

The error message will be displayed if:

  • the BAK file itself has been damaged/corrupted
  • the Policy Editor/SafeGuard Enterprise Database that was used to create the SGN Standalone Client Config package for the client machine has changed and therefore the BAK-file is signed with a different company certificate as the one currently used in the "new" policy editor (resp. SGN Database)

In this case, you have to perform a Challenge/Response from a Policy Editor that is connected to the SafeGuard Enterprise Database that was originally used.
