Smartcard logon for the SafeGuard Enterprise Management Center.
Known to apply to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s)
SafeGuard Management Center
All supported Operating Systems
What To Do
Many tokens are already supported per default, by using the built-in PKCS#11 module from AET.
If you want to use a smartcard for logon to the SafeGuard Enterprise Management Center which is not supported by the AET PKCS#11 module, please proceed as follows:
- In the SGN Management Center, create a policy that defines the PKCS#11 module file name to be used. The setting can be found in the "machine specific" policy section.
- You need to have a PKCS#11 module for the Windows operating system. This is usually installed by software from the smartcard vendor.
- Assign the policy to the computer that runs the SafeGuard Enterprise Management Center.
- Install the SafeGuard Enterprise client configuration package (!) on the computer that runs the SafeGuard Enterprise Management Center. This makes sure that the information about the PKCS#11 modules will be used for the SafeGuard Enterprise Management Center.
