Windows 2003 Standard Edition
What is the purpose of the FLOPPY_US.ISO / FLOPPY_DE.ISO files on the SafeGuard Easy product CD, located in the \TOOLS\ folder?
The FLOPPY_US.ISO or respective FLOPPY_DE.ISO file contains a full blown SafeGuard Easy Emergency CD that can be used to perform a backup of the system kernel, repair/restore the system kernel or even perform an emergency decryption of the system - necessary rights required.
To create an Emergency Disk out of the FLOPPY_US.ISO file, please use a standard commercial CD/DVD burning program. (in the example below NERO EXPRESS was used).
Follow the steps below to create the SafeGuard Easy Emergency CD:
- Create a new compilation and choose 'CD-ROM (Boot)'
- Select the index 'Boot' -> 'Source of boot image data' -> 'Image file'
- 'Browse...' for the FLOPPY_US.ISO file
- Start the burn process
Hint: The newly created CD seems to be empty as all data resides in the boot-area of the CD!
Insert the CD in your CD-ROM drive and reboot your machine, the SafeGuard Easy Emergency Tools will be started.
