Question

Why is the value "Password change after" not set correct after a change.cfg (delta file) has been executed succesful?

Answer

Under certain circumstances, respectively configurations this value is not changed correctly.

In order to achieve a succesful change of this value, we recommend to create a change.cfg file which includes the settings marked in pic#1.

- Password change allowed --> has to be set to "Yes" ("No" makes no sense in combination with "Password change after")

- Password change after --> can be set to the desired value (between 0 and 365)

- Change password after next logon --> has to be set to "No" (after the change has been apllied succesfully, it is possible to create another change.cfg which sets this value to "Yes" again)

pic #1:

After the change has been applied to the client, the Administration should look as follows:

pic#2 (changes have been apllied succesful):

This workaround should also be used if the setting is changed via the central administration component of SafeGuard Easy (SGE-Server).

The behaviour will be changed in future versions of SafeGuard Easy, meanwhile the above described procedure allows to apply the desired change.
