SGE Error 1271 after update or migration

What can I do to solve this problem?

During an upgrade or migration SafeGuard Easy the error SGE 1271 is displayed. The SafeGuard Easy installation logfile shows the same error. How can this issue be solved?

Answer

Check the registry of one affected client.

Does the hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Utimaco\SGEasy\CRAREA exist and does it contain any values?

This error can occur, if for some reason the installation of SafeGuard Easy was not completed entirely. As a result, the CRAREA entries in the registry are missing. Without these entries the system cannot be migrated to a new version.
