Question

Why does the entered Challenge/Response Code (CRC) to uninstall SafeGuard Easy not work at PBA?

Answer

Since I’m not able to logon to the SafeGuard Easy Pre-Boot-Authentication (PBA), I attempted to uninstall SGE by using a CRC in the PBA. For this reason, I created a CRC with the remote command “Uninstall”. But, every time I enter this code, I get the following error message: “Invalid Response Code. Please try again”. What is causing this?

It is simply not possible to initiate an emergency uninstall of SafeGuard Easy using a CRC in the PBA. This code may only be used by a user already logged on to the operating system.

In order to uninstall SafeGuard Easy without having the appropriate rights, a user may use the challenge/response function (offered when “Start\Programs\SafeGuard Easy\Uninstall” was started) to "order" a code which gives the authorization to uninstall to the user.

Or, you may use Add/Remove programs and try to uninstall SGEasy.

The results are the same. It is not possible to remove SGEasy without the uninstall right.
