SafeGuard Easy multi-platform 4.5x
Windows 2000, Windows XP
Sometimes it happens at the end of a SafeGuard Easy installation that an error SGE 1132, or SGE1162 appears. The installation is rolled back completely, afterwards.
During an interactive installation it can be observed that no partitions can be selected for encryption. What can be the cause? Can it be prevented?
One possible cause is a policy or registry setting, restricting the remote use of floppies. It can be prevented by changing the registry setting
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\AllocateFloppies to 0.
Alternatively, disable in -> Computer Configuration -> Windows Settings -> Local Policy (or Policies) -> Security Options the device setting "Restrict floppy access to locally logged-on user only".
After the installation of SafeGuard Easy you can change this registry entry back to 1.
Additionally, an SGE 1132 can be an indication of a wrong password used in a migration file, when upgrading to a newer version of SafeGuard Easy (>= 4.11).
