Question

What is the difference between repair kernel and restore kernel?

Answer

Restore kernel requires a valid kernel backup. If this exists, the MBR and the SafeGuard Easy kernel are simply restored from the backup.

Repair kernel can also be used, if no kernel backup exists. It scans the whole harddisk for the SafeGuard Easy kernel and then tries to restore the MBR.
