SafeGuard LAN Crypt version 3.71: SGLCINIT.EXE will not accept some command line parameters

Issue
The tool SGLCINIT.EXE does not accept the command line parameters /Te, /Tr and /Td if the LAN Crypt group policy setting "Allow Encrypt/Decrypt" is either not defined or is set to "no".

This is a known issue and will be fixed in a future release.

Known to apply to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s)
SafeGuard LAN Crypt Client version 3.71

All supported operating systems
Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP

What To Do

Use one of the following workarounds:

  • Set group policy setting "Allow Encrypt/Decrypt" to "Yes".
  • Using "Initial Encryption Wizard", right-click on the SafeGuard LAN crypt tray icon and choose Initial encryption.
