Importing of devices via CSV file takes several minutes

Issue

Importing devices into Sophos Mobile Control (SMC) via a CSV file takes several minutes.
Even if the file only consists of a few entries, the SMC server might take a few minutes.

Cause

This issue is caused by an incorrect behavior of the license count algorithm which is fixed in the Sophos Mobile Control 4.0.1 patch.

What To Do

To solve this issue, install the Sophos Mobile Control 4.0.1 patch which is available for download on Sophos.com

Install the patch on the SMC server using an administrative account.
During the update process, the SMC service will be stopped. Once the update is finished, the service will be started again.
