How to deploy Sophos Cloud for Mac from the command line

This article provides information on how to deploy Sophos Cloud client software from the command line.

Important: You will need to remove existing installations of Sophos Anti-Virus from the computer prior to installation.  For details on how to remove Sophos products see article 118849

Operating systems

It is possible to run the Sophos Cloud Installer via the command line using the following command:

sudo /Users/<username>/Downloads/Sophos\\ Installer --install


  • This example assumes that the Cloud Installer was downloaded to the default download directory.
  • Log files relating to the installation can be found in the following locations:
    • /var/log/install.log
    • /var/log/system.log
