Changes to the Sophos Anti-Virus version information

This article provides details on the changes to the Sophos Anti-Virus version information as displayed in Sophos products.

Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+

Version information changes

  • All references to the 'virus data' or 'detection data' will no longer include a letter at the end.  For example, 4.97G will become 4.97.  
  • The Anti-virus version displayed in Enterprise Console, Sophos Enterprise Manager and Sophos Control Center will also include the virus engine version. E.g. '10.3.7 VE3.50.1'.

Sophos Endpoint Security and Control

Detection Data

  • 'View product information' - 'Product Information' - 'Detection data'.
  • 'Help' - 'View product information' - 'Product Information' - 'Detection data'.
  • 'View anti-virus and HIPS log' - 'Anti-virus log' (SAV.txt).

SAV version

  • There are no changes to the SAV version information it is still reported as 10.3.7.

Sophos Enterprise Console or Sophos Enterprise Manager

Detection Data

  • 'Anti-virus Details' tab of the computer list view - 'Detection data'.
  • 'Computer details' of a given computer - 'Detection data'.

SAV version

  • 'Anti-virus Details' tab of the computer list view - 'Anti-virus version'.
  • 'Computer details' of a given computer - 'Sophos Anti-Virus version'.
  • 'Product Details' of a version under the 'Software Subscriptions'.

Note: If you are using the Sophos Reporting Interface (SRI) to retrieve this data, the new values will also be retrieved.

Sophos Control Center

Detection Data

  • 'Computer details' of a given computer - 'Detection data'.

SAV version

  • 'Anti-virus' column of the computer list view.
