Is it possible to define a new sync interval for already registered Windows Phone 8 devices?

Windows Phone 8 does not provide the functionality to change the MDM sync interval after a device has been enrolled.  In order to apply the new sync interval to already registered devices, the only option is to re-enroll the device.  See article 119497 for more information.

Is it possible to prevent a user from uninstalling Sophos Mobile Control from their Windows Phone 8 device?

With Sophos Mobile Control 3.5 it is not possible to prevent the user from uninstalling components of Sophos Mobile Control on their Windows Phone 8 device. Microsoft does not offer any functionality to do so.

When was Sophos Mobile Control 3.5 released?

Sophos Mobile Control 3.5 was released 10 July 2013.

Which versions can be updated to Sophos Mobile Control 3.5?

You can update the versions 2.5 and 3.0 directly to version 3.5. Former versions must be updated to one of these two versions first.

How is the update to version 3.5 done?

Run the setup of Sophos Mobile Control 3.5. The update process will start automatically.
If you are using SQL authentication for the database, you will be asked to enter the sa account (i.e. the default system administrator account) details once.
Using Windows Authentication you should make sure the user who runs the setup has logon rights at the database.

What differences will I see in the Sophos Mobile Control web console after updating?

The visual differences in SMC 3.5 - compared to lower versions - are explained in article 119518.

After updating to the new version, the 'Backup' and 'Command bundles' sections are gone. Where are they?

With Sophos Mobile Control 3.5 they are disabled by default. To enable them again, go to Settings | General.
On the 'Personal' tab select the check boxes next to 'Enable command bundles' and 'Enable backup functionality'.
After saving the changes the two sections will appear again.
