Cause

The problem is related to the "DirSizeCorrection". If a SafeGuard Data Exchange encryption policy configured for the DVD drive, the file size in directory enumerations will be corrected because of the encryption policy. Windows Media player is negatively affected from corrected file sizes retrieved during the directory enumeration.

What To Do

To resolve the issue, use the SafeGuard Enterprise Management Center to create a new or modify an existing "General Settings" policy and configure Windows Media Player as "File Encryption | Ignored Application":

Assign the policy to the SafeGuard Data Exchange client and synchronize the client. Restart the Client to complete the process.
The Windows Media Player can now correctly display video content from the DVD drive.

As an alternative to the policy distribution, the setting can be also be directly configured in the machines registry.
Create a new "String Value" with the value "AutoDirSizeProcesses" and enter the Windows Media Player executable:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\UTIMACO\SGLCENC]
"AutoDirSizeProcesses"="wmplayer.exe"

Restart the Client to complete the process. The Windows Media Player can now correctly display video content from the DVD drive.
