Release dates for monthly updates
Monthly updates are now being rolled out over the month, rather than all being released on one day. Some customers will receive their updates early in the month, and some will receive them later. This means that you may not see the latest versions on your system immediately. This article lists the versions being rolled out during the current calendar month.
Current versions of virus data and threat detection engine (virus engine)
These are listed in the product release notes - view these by clicking the links in the 'Version' column in the table below.

Product retirement dates can be found in our software retirement page. If the version you are running is not listed below, check the retirement tables.
The entries below link to product documentation, where appropriate. If you are not currently using the latest version, you should upgrade to the latest version. Follow the upgrading instructions in the documentation.

Network security and protection products
You can find a list of the current versions of virus data on the Sophos website as follows:
- Browse to http://www.sophos.com/downloads/ide/
- In the 'Sophos Anti-Virus version' table, go to the entry on the first line. The number in brackets is the current virus data version. For example, in the entry 'IDEs for SAV version 200911 (4.47)', the virus data number is 4.47.
