The Endpoint Security and Control version 10.0.4 update is due for release in May 2012, this release includes enhancements to the Windows driver and Sophos Web Protection and Live Protection Functionality (LSP), due to this you may require a reboot or receive a larger than usual download. See below for further information.
Known to apply to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s)
Sophos Endpoint Security and Control 10.0
Enterprise Console 5.0.0
Reboot requirement
We are incorporating a driver and LSP (Layered Service Provider) update, thus all systems will require a reboot to take advantage of the new functionality.
Reboot desktop alerts are suppressed by default for all managed Endpoints and thus notifications will only be sent to Enterprise Console.
Note: Existing protection will not be compromised before the required reboot is completed.
Download Size
Due to the number of significant enhancements in the 10.0.4 release, endpoints will see an update of up to 85 MB in size.
Additional considerations if you have migrated to Sophos Enterprise Console 5
- If you are using Enterprise Console version 5.x with the Sophos Patch Assessment add-on and/or Web Filtering add-on:
you will see retirement and resubscription notices in the console. You do not need to take any action and should dismiss the alerts.
- If you are using Enterprise Console version 5.x without the Sophos Patch Assessment add-on and/or Web Filtering add-on:
you will get an additional download (in the region of 430 MB) to your management server.
