Sophos provides support for Sophos Endpoint Security and Control on a number of virtualization solutions running supported guest operating systems. For full details refer to the system requirements page Virtualization platforms supported on Windows.

Support for other virtualization platforms
Sophos will use commercially reasonable efforts (as described below) to support all forms of virtualization to assist customers running Sophos Endpoint Security and Control. This includes, but is not limited to, the following virtualization platforms:

Sophos will provide commercially reasonable efforts on the following basis:

As virtualization technology is intended to replicate the physical computing experience, Sophos believe that its software will operate within any virtual environment as well as if it was installed on a physical environment. Therefore, Sophos offers reasonable endeavours support for virtualization on the assumption that the problem can be replicated on a physical environment.

In this case, Sophos will investigate the issue using our existing maintenance process. However, if the problem only exists in the virtual environment then this indicates a difference between the virtual and the physical environment and it may be a problem that the virtualisation vendor needs to solve.

Sophos advises that issues directly relating to the above virtual environments and/or problems requiring code modification may fall outside the scope of such assistance.

For additional information about virtualization, refer to the knowledgebase article Best Practice for running Sophos on virtual systems.
