Issue
When installing the client software for networked HP printers and print devices, Sophos Client Firewall (SCF) blocks the network traffic that is necessary for the installation and use of the printer.

Cause
This is due to the default configuration of the Sophos firewall.
What To Do
Download the attached configuration file. This adds the rules required to enable the HP client software to install and operate correctly.
- Download the attached zip file by clicking here 112562_HP_SCF_Rules.zip.
- Extract the
HP_SCF_Rules.conf file and save it to a convenient location. - Follow the instructions for importing and merging the .conf file as given in the knowledgebase article 15455.
