In Enterprise Console, Enterprise Manager or Control Center, you see an error similar to the following for an endpoint computer:

a0320001 Requested value 'UseCommonFactory' doesn't exist

This message is produced when threat data from a much older version of Sophos Anti-Virus, still present in the quarantine, is used to perform clean up.

Known to apply to the following Sophos product(s) and version(s)

Sophos Anti-Virus for Windows 2000+ 9.5.0

What to do

These steps will scan an endpoint (storing new detection data for any discovered malware) allowing clean up to proceed as expected. Existing errors will not be automatically cleared and must be acknowledged in your console.

  1. Run a full scan on the affected endpoint.
  2. Clean up any threats found in the quarantine location, if appropriate.
  3. Acknowledge the error in Enterprise Console by right-clicking the endpoint, selecting Resolve Alerts & Errors, select the alert in question and press the Acknowledge button.

Should the issue persist, re-protect the computer from the console.
