SafeGuard LAN Crypt database cannot be accessed after installing Patch 2 ( for Oracle 10g database

After installing patch 2 ( for Oracle 10g it is not possible to access the SafeGuard LAN Crypt database. The SafeGuard LAN Crypt Administration is not compatible with Oracle Client It is not possible to create the first Master Security Officer or to login with an existing SO.

This issue is caused by the Oracle ODBC driver.
