SafeGuard Enterprise Device Encryption: uninstallation fails on 64-bit Windows Vista or Windows 7 using ActivIdentity ActivClient for token logon

Uninstallation fails on 64-bit versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7 on systems that use ActivIdentiy ActivClient for token logon. The following error message is displayed:

Some components could not be removed.

SafeGuard Device Encryption 5.50.1

What To Do

  1. In the SafeGuard Enterprise Management Center, go to Policy tab and select the "Specific Machine Settings" Policy.
  2. Change the PKCS#11 module (Module name - setting) from ActivClient to one of the other options (doesn´t matter which one).
  3. Apply the changes to the client.
  4. Restart the client and then retry the uninstallation.
