The default installation of SafeGuard LAN Crypt Administration puts the SGLC tables, etc. in the master dbf. Can I put it in a separate database?

Yes, it is possible and advisable to use a separate database for the management of SafeGuard LAN Crypt.

  1. Create a database, called for example, SGLC.
  2. On the computer on which you want to run the administration, create an ODBC link to the database created in step 1. Details of how to do this are given in the manual.
  3. Install the SafeGuard LAN Crypt Administraton software.

IMPORTANT: From SafeGuard LAN Crypt Administration version, in order to create tables you must use the "CreateTables" application. For more information please refer to knowledgebase article 111525, How to use the tool 'CreateTables.exe'.
