SafeGuard LAN Crypt Client: Unexpected behavior after installing SafeGuard LAN Crypt and eTrust Antivirus on the same computer

After installing SafeGuard LAN Crypt on a computer that is virus protected by eTrust Antivirus 7.1 / 8.1, the system does not behave as before.

For example, MMC and Regedit cannot be started.

What to do

To solve this issue or to circumvent this behavior, it is necessary to adjust some filter related settings of eTrust.

In order to do so, please change the following setting within the registry:

Under HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Ino_Fltr\Setting add a DWORD "Controls" with an value of "3".

Additionally, it is possible to import the registry file below.

Note: Rename the file into .reg before importing.
