If you install SafeGuard LAN Crypt after upgrading Microsoft Outlook from 2002 to 2003 on a Windows XP SP3 computer, you receive an error message that is similar to the following:
Can't open this item. Out of memory or system resources. Close some programs and try again.
SafeGuard LAN Crypt 3.5x
Windows XP SP3
It has been observed that in some cases, when SafeGuard LAN Crypt, Outlook 2003 and Service Pack 3 have been installed on the same PC, it is not possible to read the contents of emails, and you receive the above error message above.
It has been discovered that the skchui.dll is responsible for this issue. For further information, please follow the link to Microsoft KB896429 and check to see if it solves the issue.
Although Outlook is not explicitly mentioned in the Microsoft KB896429 article, SGLC seems to trigger the described issue with the skchui.dll.
Note that "skchui.dll" may be present not only in an Outlook installation, but may also come from other software such as Visio.
What to do
We suggest one of the following solutions:
<ul ">De-registration using regsvr32.exe and/or removal of skchui.dll.De-installation of handwriting feature in MS Office and other MS applications.
