SafeGuard Easy multi-platform 4.5x

Client OS

Server OS

After installing SafeGuard Easy the system plays an alert sound, when the notebook is sent to standby by closing the lid. How can this sound be supressed?

This behaviour is caused by the FIPSmon.
To supress this sound, you have to disable the FIPSmon.exe or install SafeGuard Easy without the FIPS functionality.

To disable the FIPSmon without installing SafeGuard Easy freshly, you have to delete the run key FIPSMON from the registry hive

To be able to activate the FIPSmon again at a later time, you should export the registry key from your registry before you delete it and store it in a safe place.

Please Note:
As a result of this the FIPSMon tool that checks whether your installation is still FIPS conform or not will not work any longer!

This issue is solved in SafeGuard Easy 4.40.1!
