SafeGuard Easy multi-platform 4.5x

Client OS

Windows XP Professional Edition

Server OS

Windows 2003

How to avoid SGE 1005 during installation of SafeGuard Easy?

This issue occurs because PartMgr is not registered at Windows side (diskdrive upperfilters), the affected computer's upperfilter entry is empty.

In case PartMgr is missing (and that could have several reasons, but definitely not SafeGuard Easy), SafeGuard Easy 4.5x will create following error message: "SGE1005:Subsystem has reported an I/0 error".

- Check if "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]"
"UpperFilters"= has an empty value. If yes then:

1. Add a registry key value "PartMgr" in

2. Restart the operating system

3. Wait until Windows has detected new disks and asks to restart

4. Restart the operating system

5. The installation of SafeGuard Easy should run through without any problems.
