Can SafeGuard LAN Crypt handle file compression?

The following apply:

  • Zipped files and archives can normally be encrypted by SafeGuard LAN Crypt.
  • SafeGuard LAN Crypt cannot encrypt files compressed by NTFS. If files compressed by the file system are to be encrypted, they have to be de-compressed first. This affects both SafeGuard LAN Crypt and EFS which also cannot compress and encrypt at the same time.
  • You can use the initial encryption wizard to encrypt NTFS compressed files.
