As of version 4.3x, SafeGuard Easy relies on the logging functionality of Microsoft's Windows Installer. Therefor, the SGEASY.LOG which was commonly used in older SGE versions is no longer used.

Especially, when it comes to unattended installation, we recommend to adjust the procedure in a way that makes sure a log file is actually generated. This, of course, would be too late if the installation errored out. To avoid this, we consider it best practise to proceed as follows.

To log the installation via commandline, the following parameters could be used:

msiexec /i sgeasy.msi /qn /L*vx %SystemRoot%\SGEASY_INST.log ADDLOCAL= "add own parameters"

This command will create the MSI-logfile c:\sgeasy_inst.log.

It is also possible to activate MSI logging via the registry and/or group policies
