SafeGuard Easy multi-platform 4.5x

Client OS

Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional Edition

Server OS

Windows 2000

Will SafeGuard Easy use the same hard disk key for every system as soon as SafeGuard Easy is installed via a configuration file?

No. Although you use the same configuration file on all machines, it will not use the same key for all target machines. This can be done by choosing a random key in the configuration file. In reality, that random key is generated as soon as the configuration file is read on every single target machine (not when it is created).
This means that on all machines the keys will be generated at random and that the level of security will be increased by using different hard disk keys.

The procedure is the same for Windows 2000 and Windows XP.
