SafeGuard Easy multi-platform 4.5x

Client OS

Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional Edition

Server OS

Windows 2000

How can I fix the "CrkSetupKernel failed...... , result 1031" error message?

I have installed SafeGuard Easy (SGE) on an EFS encrypted folder and now I cannot log on to the system anymore.
SGE error message on first reboot: "CrkSetupKernel failed ...... , result 1031"
Win2000 / Windows XP error message: "The Logon User Interface DLL SGGINA.DLL failed to load."

You should not try to install SafeGuard Easy into an EFS encrypted folder. If you did so, connect via network to the PC from another machine and delete the registry key below:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon]

to solve your problem.
