SafeGuard Easy multi-platform 4.5x

Client OS

Windows 2000, Windows XP

Server OS

Windows 2000, Windows 2003

Is it possible to encrypt CompactFlash or other memory cards using SafeGuard Easy?

Yes, most CompactFlash or other memory card media (e.g. SD, MMC, Smartmedia, XD etc.) are supported in SafeGuard Easy under the condition they are recognized as removable media by the operating system.

If these devices are actually recognized as hard disks by the operating system, they cannot be encrypted by SafeGuard Easy.

Note: An encrypted SD card can only be read on the machine on which SafeGuard Easy is installed and on which it had been encrypted.
It will not be recognized by a digital camera for example.
Depending on the way you would like to use the removable media, SafeGuard Private Crypto or SafeGuard Private Disk might be the better products in order to encrypt such volumes.
