Sophos Endpoint Assessment Test

Is your computer a security risk?

Is your computer putting your organization's security at risk?

The Endpoint Assessment Test is a free tool that scans a computer and assesses whether it is a security risk to your organization.
A single scan checks that:

  • your Microsoft service pack is the current one for your operating system
  • your Microsoft patches are all up to date
  • antivirus protection is installed, running and current
  • a personal firewall is installed and running

The Endpoint Assessment Test checks for more than 700 patches, 70 anti-virus applications and 40 firewall applications. It uses the Sophos Java-based dissolvable compliance agent to scan in passive "report-only" mode. Once the scan is done, the agent presents the results.

Test results show 85% of corporate endpoints failed a basic check

After collecting information from thousands of PCs worldwide, test results show that 85% of corporate endpoints fail one or more basic checks.
Of the computers tested:

  • 66% were missing at least one Microsoft security patch
  • 51% of endpoints tested had disabled client firewalls
  • 20% had out-of-date or disabled endpoint security software

Endpoint assessment and control

If the test finds security risks on just one computer, imagine how many more computers in your organization could be equally vulnerable.
