Sophos Continues to Strengthen its Data Protection Strategy with SafeGuard® Disk Encryption Upgrade for MacBooks and Macs

Global IT security and data protection company Sophos today announced the availability of the latest Sophos SafeGuard® Disk Encryption for MacBooks and Mac that protects against data breaches of confidential and private information on MacBooks and Macs. The upgrade supports Boot Camp configurations, legacy hardware with EFI 32bit, and is available in several non-English languages, including German, French, and Japanese. Additionally, it runs on all international OS X language versions and customers will experience a noticeable increase in performance.

In August 2010, Sophos announced the availabilitySophos SafeGuard Disk Encryption for Mac – part of the SafeGuard family that includesSafeGuard EnterpriseandSafeGuard Easy. Sophos Mac encryption easily protects and enforces data protection either on a single MacBook or a mix of tens of thousands of Macs and Windows PCs and laptops – giving businesses broader security coverage and better compliance with regulations.

Sophos SafeGuard® Disk Encryption for Mac 5.50.1 now also supports Boot Camp configuration – the software included with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, which allows users and businesses the ability to run compatible versions of Microsoft Windows on an Intel-based Mac; and also runs on legacy hardware with EFI 32bit.
