Nick Bray joins Sophos.
IT security and data protection firm Sophos announced the
appointment of Nick Bray to the role
of chief financial officer. Bray is joining Sophos from Micro Focus
plc (Global $1.70bn FSTE 200 Company), where he has been their
Group CFO for the past four years. Based in our UK headquarters
near Oxford, Bray will be reporting directly into Sophos CEO Steve
Munford.
Bray brings a wealth of expertise to Sophos, having worked in
the technology sector for 16 years, spent 11 years as a plc board
member, and successfully completed eight company acquisitions.
Having extensive experience with analysts, investors brokers,
bankers and advisors in both the US and UK, Bray will join Sophos's
senior management team and help to hone the strategy and systems to
support the company's next phase of growth.
At Micro Focus International plc, Bray spent four years as a
member of the management team that increased revenues threefold and
profits fivefold, which resulted in an eightfold increase in market
value to $1.7bn. He also successfully led the arrangement of a debt
facility of $225m to fund two Micro Focus International plc
acquisitions. Previously, Bray held Group CFO roles at Fibernet
Group plc and Gentia Software plc, as well as senior financial
positions at Comshare Inc and Lotus Software.
"Sophos has prospered operationally and financially over the
past three years, growing our revenues at a 27% cumulative annual
growth rate and generating strong cash flow," said Steve Munford, CEO
of Sophos. "As the market continues its migration from point
solution to tailored, unified security suites, Sophos's strategy to
offer the world's most resilient, cost-effective solutions without
any additional complexity remains key. Nick is an excellent
addition to our Senior Management Team. His experience and record
for success give us additional firepower as we storm ahead."
"Sophos has an impressive market position in the strategically
critical domain of computer security and data protection," said
Bray.
"Sophos's strong vision, company culture and impressive technology
offerings puts the company in an ideal position to expand its
impact in the global security software market."
Bray will be taking his position at Sophos in late August
2010.
