Sophos commends business partners at annual awards ceremony

May 26, 2010 Sophos Press Release

IT security and data protection firm Sophos has announced its annual partner awards, crowning Foursys as 'UK Partner of the Year' for the ninth consecutive year. Foursys was awarded the coveted title based on the company's strong new and renewal business, as well as demonstrating commitment in areas of sales and product training.

In addition to 'UK Partner of the Year', Foursys also walked away with 'Public Sector Partner of the Year', championing proactive levels of engagement with Sophos's Public Sector team, and demonstrating a strong understanding of the vertical markets for active sales engagement.

"In the last year the Foursys sales and technical teams have been working very closely with the various Sophos sales teams in NHS, Local Government, Education and Corporate and this is paying off for both companies with a 25% increase in revenue over the last year," said Paul Prior, MD of Foursys. "Every member of the sales and technical team has now been trained on Sophos solutions and having that level of expertise together with our own services offerings means we can help customers make the most of their security investment."

SBL were recognised for their commitment to developing strong demand generation activities and proving absolute year-on-year new business growth.

"It is extremely gratifying that SBL's tremendous efforts in generating new business have been recognised by Sophos," said Angela Calvert, Head of Business Development & Alliances. "SBL's success stems from our focus on articulating one simple message: the Sophos proposition is a compelling, seamlessly integrated, end-to-end security offering that delivers a clear ROI. SBL anticipates further growth, driven by our continued commitment to promote and market the value of Sophos throughout 2010."

The awards took place on 20 May at the Belfry Hotel, Oxford, as part of the Sophos UK Partner Conference 2010. This annual event gives Sophos partners an insight into the company's future plans and developments. This year, partners were invited to take part in team-building activities including axe-throwing and cross-bow shooting.

Mark Lee, Thames Valley Branch Manager at SCC, was awarded 'Outstanding Individual Contribution' for his significant involvement in enabling SCC to double its revenue with Sophos during the past twelve months.

"Sophos's annual conference and awards ceremony is about recognising our partners' efforts over the past year. Continuing to do business, and do business well, in a volatile economic climate is something Sophos is proud to say that it has achieved due to the hard work and commitment from its channel partners," said Ciaran Rafferty, VP Sophos UK&I. "Sophos consistently invests in its partner community, launching the new partner programme last year, aiming to make doing business with Sophos profitable and consistent, and this year we have an immense opportunity to win new business and become THE security vendor of choice."
