BOSTON - February 22, 2010 - IT security and data protection firm Sophos today announced that Vice President of Global Channels Christopher Doggett has been named a 2010 Channel Chief by Everything Channel's CRN. This marks the second consecutive year that Doggett has been awarded this honor.
Channel Chiefs are recognized as leaders who consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies. Under Doggett's direction, Sophos has made substantial channel investments and developed key initiatives, which have significantly increased the value of partnering with Sophos.
"It's an honor to be named a Channel Chief again this year," said Doggett. "One of the hallmarks of our business model is a 100 percent partner-oriented strategy. Our unwavering channel commitment is underscored by involving partners in every new business opportunity that we discover; offering them greater rewards when they originate a deal; and working with each partner pre-, during and post-sale. The way our program is structured and managed, partners experience very little channel conflict - and that's both noted and very much appreciated by our partners."
In the last year, Sophos introduced a number of new programs and platforms for partners, including: a custom partner online pricing, quoting and ordering system; a completely redesigned partner portal, which delivers a personalized experience for each individual user; and a new partner education and training program.
Notably, according to a survey conducted by a third-party firm of Sophos's worldwide partners, more than 90 percent of respondents gave positive ratings in their level of trust in, and the ease of doing business with, Sophos.
For the eighth consecutive year the Channel Chiefs were chosen by Everything Channel editorial based on criteria including policy and program innovations made during the past year; the amount of revenue a company generates through partners; their willingness to speak out publicly on behalf of the channel; and the number of years they have dedicated to channel activities.
"Being named a Channel Chief is one of the most prestigious honors in the IT industry. This year's Channel Chiefs offers tremendous insight into the who's who of the Channel," said Kelley Damore, VP, Editorial Director, Everything Channel. "Top channel executives consistently ensure that the Channel's voice is heard when strategic decisions are being made and continually nurture mutually profitable relationships. We applaud the 2010 Channel Chiefs for their successful partner programs and strategies."
