BOSTON - January 19, 2010 - IT security and data protection firm
Sophos today announced that Chris Doggett has been promoted to vice
president, global channels.
In this expanded role, Chris will work with a team so that
global partners and regional Sophos channel teams can collaborate
to better execute global partnerships on a local level.
Additionally, he will improve the efficiency and online sales
growth opportunities for partners selling into the small to
medium-sized business (SMB) community by creating a global
ecommerce program.
"Under Chris' leadership, Sophos's unique co-selling model has
fueled a significant increase in channel partner revenues - many
active partners experienced double-digit growth last year," said
Mike McGuinness, senior vice president of worldwide sales and field
operations at Sophos. "Chris' commitment to establishing a channel
partner program globally has earned Sophos an ever-increasing list
of loyal partners worldwide. I have every confidence that Chris
will continue to take the program to new heights in 2010 and
beyond."
Launched in April 2009, the company's first-ever Global Partner
Program is designed to further bolster sales and increase brand
awareness worldwide. According to Sophos partners, revenues based
on Sophos sales well exceeded industry averages. And Sophos was
frequently their highest-growth security vendor partnership.
Notably, also in the last year, Chris spearheaded new programs
for deal registration, lead distribution, channel marketing, and
implemented a unique two-tier reseller margins structure to protect
channel partners. From these initiatives, revenue growth for North
American Sophos channel partners increased 43 percent in fiscal
year 2009.
In addition to achieving unprecedented partner support, Sophos's
Global Partner Program and Chris received many industry accolades
in 2009 including:
Sophos was certified as a "Five-Star Partner" by Everything
Channel for the second consecutive year. The company earned the
highest overall ratings in sales support, marketing support,
partner profitability, channel operations, communications and
partner recruitment;
Sophos won for "Product Innovation" and "Support" in the Client
Security Software category of Everything Channel's 2009 Annual
Report Card (ARC), in which partners rate their top vendor
relationships;
Chris was honored as a "Channel Chief" by Everything Channel for
his business innovation and dedication to the partner
community;
Chris was named a "Distinguished Nominee" in the Channel Insider
Bull's Eye Awards, which recognize excellence in channel management
and execution.
