Sophos and Utimaco, a global leader in hardware based data
security solutions, has extended its hardware security module (HSM)
portfolio with the new SafeGuard CryptoServer Se-Series.
The SafeGuard CryptoServer Se-Series comprises of several HSM
that are optimized for common security requirements in commercial
environments. They fulfill all requirements in accordance with the
leading certification standard worldwide, FIPS 140-2 level 3.
The high-speed model SafeGuard CryptoServer Se1000 marks the new
top line in cryptographic performance with more than 10,000 RSA
transactions per second. The SafeGuard CryptoServer Se-Series
furthermore features two models Se10 and Se50 which have been
designed to fit low to medium performance requirements of business
applications, e.g. a corporate Certificate Authorities (CA).
All models of the SafeGuard CryptoServer Se-Series are available
as PCI Express expansion card and network attached HSM. They
support all major cryptographic interfaces which include Microsoft
CryptoAPI and Cryptography Next Generation (CNG); PKCS#11, JCE and
OpenSSL.
In addition, Sophos offers a powerful software development kit
enabling integrators to write their custom firmware extensions for
execution inside the secure boundary of any model of the SafeGuard
CryptoServer Se-Series. This unique combination of performance and
customization makes SafeGuard CryptoServer Se the ideal HSM for
integrations in many infrastructure applications.
The SafeGuard CryptoServer Se-Series is available now. It will
be presented at CARTES 2009 in Paris. For more information please
