IT security and data
protection firm Sophos has announced the opening of its new
office in Auckland. Centrally located on New North Road, Kingsland,
the new office will enable Sophos to meet the increasing demand in
the region and build on its current client base.
Shirley Wigley, Sophos NZ Territory Manager who has been with
Sophos since April 2008 and newly appointed Sales Engineer, Chris
Jackson-Cox will both be responsible for fostering existing
business relationships and driving new sales in the New Zealand
market.
Commenting on the recent office opening, Rob Forsyth,

our growth in the New Zealand market. Customers from small
businesses, large enterprises and government departments, have been

Sophos appoints Chris Jackson-Cox as NZ Sales Engineer
Chris has recently been appointed as a Sales Engineer at Sophos
for New Zealand. Chris's role will assist in driving sales through
direct and channel Sales Engineering (pre sales) support and the
delivery of presentations and training.
Prior to Sophos, Chris was employed by KPMG's Risk Advisory
Services as a manager in the IT Advisory team. In this role Chris
managed a range of IT risk and information security engagements for
public and private sector organisations across New Zealand. This
role also included interacting and building relationships with
people in senior IT roles in large enterprises across New
Zealand.
Chris also spent three and a half years working for the Houses
of Parliament in the UK specialising in IT security. During this
time one of his projects was to manage the selection of a new
Anti-Virus product for all
Parliamentary Desktops. After evaluating the major anti-virus
products, Sophos was selected as the preferred vendor.
Chris is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional
(CISSP) and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). Chris
has also completed a postgraduate certificate in Information
Security and Penetration Testing from the University of Glamorgan.
He is also a keen spear and kayak fisherman and loves the sea.
