BOSTON, Mass. - January 30, 2009 - Sophos's Director of Global
Channel Programs, Chris Doggett sat down with Vice President and
Group Publisher Channel Insider, Ziff Davis Enterprise Larry Walsh
to discuss IT security spending in 2009 - market challenges and
opportunities for the channel.
Organizations are facing more compliance with regulations and
new security policies and they are looking for security solutions
that have enhanced reporting on compliance and can be managed in an
efficient manner.
According to Doggett, solution providers and customers say that
endpoint, compliance and encryption are top priorities especially
as threats have become more targeted.
Although anti-virus and encryption technologies have been around
for some time, organizations haven't been able protect their data
and infrastructure in an integrated fashion. Companies are looking
for technologies that are easily managed and run more efficiently
especially as IT departments have more responsibility with either
the same number of staff or fewer hands of deck. Implementing
different point products adds complexity, insufficient reporting
and higher costs. Sophos Endpoint Security and Control offers
channel partners and customers a viable security option with higher
ROI.
"There are a lot of opportunities in marketplace for partners as
customers are looking for more value out of their existing spend",
said Doggett.
