Vancouver, BC - IT security and control firm Sophos announced
today that Chief Technologist Gurusamy Sarathy will speak at the
11th International West Coast Security Forum, The Threat of Cyber
Crime / Cyber Terrorism in British Columbia.
Gurusamy's presentation, titled, "Subverting Web Reputations:
How criminals cut through traditional web security defenses by
pwning popular sites," will provide a brief overview of the
status quo in web security, and will look at specific attacks that
usurp web reputations, highlighting the strategic weaknesses in
defenses that are exploited. Alternative security regimes that are
increasingly necessary for successful defense will be also be
discussed.
Gurusamy Sarathy is responsible for technology vision, strategy,
and innovation in gateway security and control products at Sophos.
He has an eclectic set of interests, and an academic background to
match, with degrees in Computer Science, Urban Transportation
Planning, Building Construction Management, and Architecture.
