Utimaco, The Data Security Company, today announced that SC
Magazine, a respected and trusted source for delivering
cutting-edge IT security editorial and product tests, has
recognized SafeGuard Enterprise 5.3 as one of the top encryption
products in today's maturing data security market. The October 2008
issue of the publication highlights SafeGuard Enterprise 5.3 as
having earned a five star rating for organizations looking for a
simple solution that will integrate with existing directories and
encrypt endpoints without impeding performance or user
productivity.
SC Magazine's review of encryption tools evaluated products
based on their features, ease of use, performance, documentation,
support and value for the money. SafeGuard Enterprise 5.3 was
lauded for its comprehensive protection, most notably its five
integrated components that roll into one product suite to provide
file and folder-based or whole
disk encryption. The review also noted SafeGuard Enterprise
5.3's support for Vista BitLocker as a beneficial addition to the
solution.
"SafeGuard Enterprise 5.3 provides lots of options available as
an enterprise-class suite," said Nathan Ouellette, SC Magazine.
"SafeGuard Enterprise contains all the bells and whistles that we
would expect to see-pre-boot authentication, emergency access and
strong authentication support. The features offer the strictest
control over devices, drives, files and even ports."
Driven by increased awareness of internal security breaches,
along with regulatory pressure, and the potential for brand damage
and bad press, Utimaco developed SafeGuard Enterprise 5.3 to
provide enterprise customers with broad and complete security
coverage. SafeGuard Enterprise 5.3 is the first product on the
market that couples advanced encryption and data leakage prevention
(DLP) in one suite and it has more than tripled its deployment of
customer seats in the second half of its 2007/2008 fiscal year
compared to the first half of the same year. SafeGuard Enterprise
is now installed on more than 400,000 machines worldwide.
"Utimaco is proud that SC Magazine has validated our effort to
provide the finest encryption solution on the market and create a
full suite of solutions to offer 360 degree data security," said
Martin Wuelfert, CEO, Utimaco. "Industry statistics consistently
show that the most significant threat to organizations comes from
within and we recognize that enterprises need an easy to use, easy
to implement solution that will protect all of their critical data
on the endpoints and beyond."
About SafeGuard Enterprise
SafeGuard Enterprise 5.3 is comprised of the existing SafeGuard
Management Center module, the SafeGuard Device Encryption, the Data
Exchange as well as Partner Connect and SafeGuard Configuration
Protection module. Further modules rounding off Utimaco's data
security suite are to be added in later product versions: SafeGuard
File & Folder Encryption secures user data that is exchanged
between working groups. In addition, it can be used to encrypt both
local disk drives and network servers at file and directory level,
and to assign them individual access rights.
