Daniel Nyssen won the award for sales excellence.
Security and control specialists Sophos shone at last week's
prestigious annual Australian Reseller News awards dinner at
Sydney's Hilton Hotel.
Over 500 leading executives from all tiers of the industry
attended the event on September 18, 2008 to honour the achievements
of leading companies and individuals during the past year.
Daniel Nyssen from Sophos Melbourne, Paul Ducklin from Sophos
Sydney and Melbourne-based Sophos partner Evolve IT all bagged
podium finishes, with Nyssen going all the way to Gold as the
outright winner of the Sales Excellence award in the Personal
Excellence category.
"This is a great endorsement of our company," said Rob Forsyth,
Sophos's Sydney-based director for the Asia Pacific region. "Sophos
invests in and nurtures its staff, which is reflected in awards
like these. Sophos staff, in turn, invest in and nurture our
partners."
Sophos has bucked the trend of its competitors, backing
Australia and Australian techies at a time when many of its
competitors are both outsourcing and offshoring their technical
operations.
Sophos's Sydney office houses one of the company's four hi-tech
24/7 global Threat Research Labs, and is the nerve centre of the
company's Technical Support and Services for Asia.

"Sophos's depth of local talent is directly available to our
customers and partners," said Forsyth. "With Sophos, everyone's a
winner."
