Sophos has a 20 year history of innovative security solutions
Sophos, a world leader in IT security and control, today
announced that GE, one of the world's most recognized brands, has
completed an agreement to begin deploying Sophos's Security and
Control solution beginning in 2007.
Under the terms of the agreement, Sophos may be deployed on up
to 350,000 endpoints (laptops, desktops and servers) throughout the
world and within every division of the company.
Seeking to improve manageability and reduce costs which arise
from managing multiple solutions, GE will introduce Network Access
Control (NAC) as well as anti-virus and client firewall protection
that will provide IT administrators with the convenience and
simplicity of the Sophos Security and Control solution.
"Companies want a single integrated agent that handles all
aspects of endpoint security on each PC. Other vendors offer
security suites that are little more than a bunch of separate
applications bundled together, all vying for resources on the
user's computer," said Steve
Munford, CEO at Sophos. "Enterprises tell us that the tide has
turned, and the place for NAC and integrated security is at the
endpoint."
