CDC Software is protecting its computers with Sophos
solutions.
Sophos, a world leader in IT security and control, announced
today that CDC Software, a wholly owned subsidiary of CDC
Corporation and a provider of industry-specific enterprise software
applications and business services, has selected Sophos to protect
all tiers of its network against viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware,
adware, potentially unwanted applications (PUAs) and hackers.
As CDC Software has numerous locations globally, the decision to
consolidate at the endpoint with Sophos Anti-Virus will ensure that
all worldwide locations receive the same level of protection.
For the next three years, up to 2000 CDC Software employees will
be protected against viruses, spyware, adware and potentially
unwanted applications at the endpoint with Sophos Anti-Virus. Additionally,
PureMessage will disinfect and/or
quarantine viruses, spyware, Trojans and worms in both incoming and
outgoing email. CDC Software purchased Sophos solutions through
Sophos Platinum channel partner, Softchoice based in Toronto,
Canada.
"Throughout the evaluation, Sophos was enormously attentive to
our needs and requirements," said Joe Butel, vice president of IT,
CDC Software. "The process from start to finish was such a
refreshing change compared to our previous IT security vendors. We
selected Sophos for several reasons - the quality of service and
expertise, simplified management capabilities and pro-active,
multi-tier protection across all divisions."
"CDC Software did their due diligence in their search for the
most suitable IT security solutions and in the end, Sophos was the
best choice for their needs and environment," said Chris Luley,
corporate account manager at Softchoice. "Our close partnership
with Sophos made the evaluation and purchase process with CDC
Software extremely efficient."
