BeSeQure - Portal Security and Sophos AntiVirus Filter has received "Powered by SAP NetWeaver" certification status.
IT security firm Sophos has announced that BeSeQure's portal security offering, integrated with Sophos Anti-Virus, has been awarded 'Powered by SAP NetWeaver' certification status. BeSeQure - Portal Security and Sophos Anti-Virus Filter contains Sophos's award-winning anti-virus technology, and enables SAP users to integrate business critical applications safely into their SAP Enterprise Portal.
BeSeQure, a leading supplier of security solutions for service oriented architectures, is committed to ensuring that its professional portal solutions remain fully secured at all times, enabling companies to use them for business critical processes and applications. Thanks to its integration with Sophos Anti-Virus, the portal environment is now protected from unwanted and malicious content by flexible filter mechanisms with real-time content inspection.
In addition, BeSeQure's use of Sophos Anti-Virus Interface means that company critical documents and information can be securely accessed, processed and entered into the portal environment from any system. Unlike other solutions, content is checked for malicious code before it reaches the portal, while to avoid loss of performance, files are scanned in the background without user knowledge or interruption to document processing.
"A deciding factor behind our decision to integrate the anti-virus solution from Sophos into our products is that the technology can protect against malicious code proactively," said Bruno Quint, founder and director of BeSeQure. "In times like these, when IT security threats are becoming more and more complex and spreading more rapidly, this level of protection is essential - especially for the protection of business critical systems and data."
Sophos Anti-Virus Interface scans all data traffic for malicious code at the gateway, while Sophos's Behavioral Genotype® Technology enables the detection of unknown malicious code before it can execute. All files are scanned before they reach the portal to prevent malicious code from being accessed or spreading via the portal infrastructure.
"SAP usually processes highly confidential information such as customer, personnel or financial data. Availability and security are of the highest priority for companies," said Pino v. Kienlin, managing director of Sophos GmbH. "The protection of all system components and data is therefore essential, and with the integration of Sophos Anti-Virus Interface into the BeSeQure solution we contribute considerably to increasing the security of SAP company portals."
