IT security firm Sophos and GROUP technologies AG, email
management specialists, have announced the extension of their
strategic partnership by integrating SAV interface and Sophos
Anti-Spam interface into IQ.Suite for Lotus Notes and Microsoft
Exchange for GROUP Technologies. Version 3.0 of Sophos PureMessage
for Notes/Domino also incorporates policy management for email
disclaimers within IQ.Suite.
Providing companies with a centrally managed security solution
to protect Lotus Notes clients from malware and spam, Sophos
PureMessage for Notes/Domino is automatically updated with threat
protection from SophosLabs, Sophos's global network of analysis
centers.
IQ.Suite, a comprehensive server-based solution for email
management from GROUP, enables incoming and outgoing emails to be
scanned for malware and spam as well as archived according to legal
requirements.
"Integration of Sophos's anti-virus and anti-spam capabilities
into GROUP's email management platform reflects our commitment to
providing our customers with the best possible technology," said
Gary MacDonald, Chief Operating Officer of GROUP Technologies.
The integration of disclaimer module from GROUP technologies
into Sophos PureMessage for Notes/Domino gives administrators the
opportunity to add standard text and HTML elements into headers and
footers of outgoing mail, including legal notes, privacy policies,
security and company information can be automatically appended into
the message body of an email. The disclaimer can be configured by
time frames, particular users, user groups or by domain. The
centralized console, which manages PureMessage, is available from
Lotus Notes or a web browser.
"Compliance with legal IT security and data protection policies
is certainly a growing concern for companies," said Pino Kienlin,
managing director of Sophos Germany. "Working with GROUP
Technologies has enabled us to offer companies a flexible solution
to protect their networks as well as centrally manage email
disclaimer rollouts.'
