Sophos, a world leader in protecting businesses against viruses,
spyware and spam, has announced the appointment of Aruna Carver as
head of UK marketing. This move is the latest in a series of
appointments to senior sales and management positions.
Carver's appointment represents a strengthening of the UK
operation across sales, channel marketing and product management.
In her new capacity, Carver will be responsible for developing both
the UK marketing and channel strategy, as well as the pricing
initiatives in the UK.
In her previous position, Carver was the marketing director of
Microsoft Business Solutions, where she received a number of
accolades for her success in developing new business pipelines and
re-invigorating the reseller channel.
"I'm delighted to be joining Sophos at such an exciting time of
growth, with the reseller recruitment drive and Sophos expanding
its product range," said Carver. "I'm particularly looking forward
to the challenges involved in making these new initiatives a
success."
Coupled with other recent appointments that bring a wealth of
experience from many companies including Dell and Proofpoint, the
senior management team at Sophos is now stronger than ever. This
puts Sophos in a good position to continue its aggressive growth
strategy across all areas, including strengthening relationships
with the channel, developing new opportunities for the expanded
product range and opening up new business pipelines.
Other recent appointments include Louise Sanders who has
recently taken on the role of sales manager, responsible for
managing mid-tier accounts. Piers Morgan joins Sophos as corporate
sales manager. Most recently Morgan headed up the software and
peripherals sales team at Dell.
Matt Wise has been appointed as the sales manager for small and
medium businesses, leading the newly formed business development
team. Matt joins Sophos from Messagelabs. Stuart Wilson has joined
Sophos from Proofpoint and is now the UK gateway sales manager.
"Our recent partnership with Ingram Micro and the strong
end-user demand for our products means our sales team must grow and
evolve," said Stuart Small, UK sales and marketing director at
Sophos. "These appointments will allow us to ensure our channel
partners receive all the necessary support."
