| PostX and Sophos have increased email security
for their respective customers. |
Sophos, a world leader in integrated threat management and
PostX, the leader in the delivery of encrypted email communications
for businesses and consumers, announced a collaborative effort to
increase email security for their respective customers. PostX will
combine its SecureEmail encryption with Sophos's PureMessage
technology to offer a complete secure messaging experience, which
protects all individual emails, while also meeting broader
compliance needs and protecting an organization's network.
"Using multilayered email security techniques can be complex and
extremely costly. The Sophos and PostX partnership addresses these
issues head-on," said Scott Olechowski, vice president of product
strategy and development, PostX. "The offerings from PostX and
Sophos together, provide an end-to-end solution that shields
customers' entire enterprise messaging network both transparently
and proactively."
The combined PostX SecureEmail and Sophos PureMessage solution
not only provides world-class email encryption based on policy, but
also provides complete protection from viruses, spyware, Trojans,
phishing, and spam. The solution allows each email to be encrypted
according to content, recipient or sender-based policies, in
addition to a wide range of other available rules.
"Securing email is harder than ever because of evolving security
threats and content management requirements," said Richard Baldry,
Head of Strategic Alliances, Sophos. "It makes sense for the secure
messaging leaders to work together to provide the best email
protection and compliance solution for businesses."
Sophos PureMessage combines industry-leading anti-virus and
anti-spam technologies with flexible policy management and
world-class support. It checks all email traffic passing through
the email server in real time, providing protection against mass
mailing worms and viruses, including the latest multi-faceted
attacks that combine virus, spam, and DoS (denial of service)
attacks. Viruses are stopped at the gateway before they can
proliferate within a corporate network. The PureMessage engine
intercepts messages at the email gateway and scans for spam,
viruses, and other conditions defined by the overall message
filtering policy. It then applies any policy actions to the
messages, passing them back to the MTA (mail transfer agent) before
delivering to the intended recipient or quarantining for
review.
PostX's SecureEmail is an easy-to-use, intuitive, and
cost-effective solution that provides customers with a platform for
enterprise-class security and policy enforcement, as well as
powerful encryption capabilities to secure confidential emails.
SecureEmail is the only solution that supports all the principal
forms of secure delivery, including PostX Envelopes (secure push),
PostX WebSafe (secure web-based messaging), OpenPGP, S/MIME, and
Transport Layer Security (TLS).
