Other highlights include new firewall technology and solid
performance in Asia
Manila, The Philippines: Sophos, a world leader in protecting
businesses against spam and viruses, today announced the
availability of the latest edition of Sophos enterprise solutions
offering gateway, server and endpoint protection in the
Philippines. Sophos enterprise solutions introduce Genotypeâ„¢
detection technology, a method of using forensic analysis to
identify suspicious patterns and characteristics that are unique to
either a virus family or a spam campaign. By analysing these
Genotype patterns, Sophos can reduce exposure to new unidentified
threats and unwanted content.
The Sophos products incorporate new architecture to address the
security needs of medium-to-large enterprises, which inevitably
have complex IT infrastructures. Sophos's new easy-to-use
management tools integrate updating and reporting tasks, removing
much of the existing administration costs.
"With today's increasingly-complex security threats, companies
need reliable protection that is easy to manage. The latest
enterprise offerings from Sophos have enhanced proactive detection,
ensuring all points of the network are protected," said Charles
Cousins, managing director of Sophos Asia. "The easy-to-use console
greatly simplifies the IT Administrators role."
In addition, Sophos announced the acquisition of an
award-winning client firewall technology and expertise in a
non-exclusive transfer deal with Agnitum Ltd. Sophos will use
Agnitum's Outpost Pro product as a technology base to engineer an
industrial strength solution for future integration into Sophos's
suite of products designed specifically for networked
environments.
All of these enhanced security offerings from Sophos will enable
businesses to obtain more secure protection against malicious
threats such as spyware, phishing, viruses and spam that continue
to plague companies globally. "Sophos is committed to providing a
best-of-breed integrated security suite for its customers," added
Cousins "Our consistent performance and impressive growth
year-on-year proves that the market appreciates our strong focus on
business markets and our efforts to meet customer demand for
simplified, consolidated endpoint and gateway protection against
the latest security threats."
Sophos has experienced strong market demand for its converged
security products, with an increase in bookings of 36% to US$122
million for the year ended March 2004. In Asia, Sophos has
experienced over 300% growth in sales in the year.
Sophos is headquartered in Boston, US and Oxford, UK. More information is available at www.sophos.com.
